potty train has been a chore at our house. maybe because our jenna first showed interest a YEAR ago. that’s right; before her second birthday last year, she had about 3 weeks were she would use the potty nearly all the time. then, she got over it. her interest was re-sparked in the spring, but with no consistency. i tried to relax and let her lead, but was still asking and taking her often. she was so inconsistent and even she was frustrated. i realized that even if she is smart as a whip, her little body just might not be ready. she was always very disappointed in herself after every accident, so we took a break. we still talked about it often, but we took all the pressure off of her.
that seemed to do the trick.
over labor day, my mom gave her new dora panties and she really wanted to wear them. we made a deal that if she had no #2 accidents (that’s where she was having problems) for a few days we would try panties. she did it! we had one accident early in the week, but she’s been 100% now for more than 5 days. she tells us when she has to go, even when we are out running errands. we drove to phoenix (to go to the temple) saturday, and she had panties on ALL day. church and nursery were the same. she’s a rock star and we are very proud of her! we celebrated tonight when she filled her ‘potty chart’, marking that she was now potty trained, with brownies and ice cream.

after baths tonight i told her i needed her picture for the blog. of course, she hammed up the camera. love you sweetie!

Yay! Win! Jenna is exactly like Adelle was, how crazy. Now let's hope she doesn't follow in her footsteps with the public restroom fixation. That's when is all began...
YEA! Exciting and scary at the same time because now you have to KNOW where all the tolerable public restrooms are. Cambria got really mad when we put her in diapers six months ago to drive to California. She didn't end up using it, but we were a little overcautious.

She is seriously the cuttest kid I have ever seen, my Ammon is pretty adorable, but Jenna takes the cake! I adore her and am so proud, she's such a big girl!!!!
Good job Jenna! I guess patience is the key then, huh? And not to pressure, I'll have to remember that. :Z
