okay, so let me tell you the truth for just a minute.
i love my kids! honestly, most days i just cannot get enough of them. before i lay down for the night, i always check on them in their beds. every night i just smile at their cute little sleeping faces. how did one mom get so lucky?!
{this was just today painting with water colors… i think i need a bigger fridge}
jenna is my sweet girl. she is so smart and very kind. she picks up on EVERYTHING around her and never stops talking and asking questions. i love it! i look forward to starting her in a preschool program once the summer is over and watching her skills develop. jenna is the BEST cuddler, and a great big sister. she is often trying to ‘translate’ adam’s needs to david or i, and is always in a hurry to get him out of his crib when he’s done with naptime. she loves helping me with the laundry and just about any other chore that needs to be done. david has done a wonderful job teaching her how to make bread and pizza and i know she’ll be a pro before she starts high school. she loves family home evening and is getting more use to going to sunbeams. i love her to pieces.
adam really is a love. on those times he’s really trying my patience, he’ll just look at me with his adorable brown eyes and say, ‘sorry. mommy. sorry.’ and then give me a hug. he is talking up a storm and amazing me each day. he is really anxious to share his new vocabulary with me {and everyone else} so walking through the grocery store is adorable. he points out almost all the fruits and vegetables, and gets excited again at the dairy case- ‘milk. eggs! butter! yogurt! soy milk!’ both him and his sister are very specific on what they want to drink, be it juice, milk or water. sometimes i try to sneak more water into young adam, only for him to take a sip and say, ‘no like it! no like water.’ and then request ‘straw. berry. milk. peas, mommy.’ i can’t resist smiling when my not-yet-two-year-old can communicate his wants so effectively. now don’t get me wrong, we often have moments of pure frustration when NO ONE can figure out what adam is so upset about it, but those times are getting fewer and farther between. he plays with the foam letters in the tub, and shouts out what he thinks they are. sometimes he’s right the first time, and almost always right after we correct him once and tell him what letter it is. i love him all the way.
i feel so lucky and blessed to have such great kids! i look forward to watching them grow in to full grown people- which i’m afraid is going to happen much sooner than i am really ready for.

Took me a second to understand Adam's drink plea. That's adorable!
Adelle is always in a hurry to get Millie from the crib, too. If I dawdle too much, she says, "It's okay, Mom. I'll get her!" (Highly effective.)
