Elder and Sister Scott

 David's parents have been talking about serving a mission for years. Right before I had Jenna, 3 of their parents moved in with them, and so for the last nearly 5 years, they have been caring for them. With Grandpa's passing just after Christmas, they were empty-nester's for the FIRST time and were prepared to get things in order to serve a church mission. They submitted their paper work, and got called to serve in the Honolulu Hawaii Mission for 2 years. How lucky is Hawaii to have them?! David's brother Rob is there serving in the Air Force with his family of 5 kids, and Jim and Carolyn got to visit for the first time last fall. They said they would serve ANYWHERE and so we were all guessing that 'anywhere' would end up being far away, undesirable and probably a little bit scary- we couldn't be more excited for them! Of course we'll miss them desperately, but with technology, we'll stay in touch.

 They spoke in church last Sunday, and we got to attend. It's always great to get together, and this time was no different. Here are the grandkids, minus the 3 in Utah and the 5 in Hawaii. When they get home, babies Reese and Megan (who just happened to coordinate their outfits) will be talking and walking and those tall boys in back, Tyler and Colton, will be getting ready to graduate high school and serve their own missions.

  Jenna thought they were just going on vacation so we tried to explain that she'll be 6 when they get home. Her only reply was, "That's not that long." And she's right, in the grand scheme of things.

   On Tuesday we went out for dinner before their appointment to be set apart as full time missionaries. Dave's mom received a beautiful blessing to not worry too much about those of us back at home and David's dad's blessing promised that him and his sweetheart would grow even closer as they served the Lord together. The left for Utah on Wednesday to spend time with family, and entered the MTC yesterday. We are so very proud of them and cannot wait to hear about all their wonderful adventures.
