grandma said she walked around a little in the foyer during sacrament. she began to do the same during sunday school. a small group of moms were hanging out in the gym, so jenna and i joined. i was able to talk to my newly assigned visiting teaching companion. she is ready to have #3 in just a few month and she has a little one that is just 2 months older that jenna. we were talking about how her little girl is pretty feisty and she doesn't know what she's going to do with an infant. just than she walked over to my tottering jenna and went in for a hug. because jenna is new to this walking thing, her balance is not so great, so i held her up while this little girl came up and gave jenna a hug. awwwh- how sweet- right!? WRONG! she then went in for a kiss- with her mouth opened. she left marks on my sweet jenna's chubby check! jenna was confused. she looked at me and began wailing. poor thing! she was super loud and very upset- huge tears rolling off her face- that i took her outside. she was able to calm down after about 3 minutes, but still has a mark today. poor girl. i think we both handled ourselves very well. the other mom was super apologetic, and really, chances are that she was going to be bit sooner or later (i w
ould have just wished for later). dave's commentary on the whole thing is that we need to teach her to bite so that she can defend herself (or heck, grow top teeth for that matter). i say absolutely not! can you imagine being the parent of the 'biter'? i would much rather jenna just push mean kids down- all kids push right? kids are rarely labeled as 'pushers', but 'biter' or 'face-smasher' could plague her all during her nursery years. so we are working on self-defense after this incident. she is lucky to get lots of practice with ella around.... (case in point: i just looked up to find ella prepping to sit on a crawling jenna!)

Jenna was an angel during the first half hour of Sacrament meeting UNTIL she heard and saw you! What a sweety, loved having her if only for an hour, and she was no worse than her Dad was during church! You are correct, no biters please. Your talks were great. Love ya.
They just don't cover these kind of things in parenting books. I'm going to write a book on REAL parenting- toddler self-defense, extricating objects from noses, four-year-old proposals of marriage, realistic carpet cleaners for vomit, pee, poop, lipstick, crayon, gum, etc. You know, real world stuff.
toddlers all have their moments with each other; I think Karen's listing covered it pretty well.
I'm glad your talks went well- I heard the first part of yours and thought you did a great job!
Jenna got BIT! That is so not cool. I don't get bad kids, there was this one that came to Gospel Principles and as I ignored him being a pain in the A, he totally punched me in the arm, I looked at his mom and she totally seemed to not care, I don't like mean kids. Don't teach Jenna to push, she should be nice, because she is nice, it makes the bad kids parents feel worse when your kid is perfect :)
