the birthday burger

if you sign up at their website, red robin sends you a coupon for a free burger every year at your birthday. this is one of the few things that really excites david. he is a HUGE fan of the banzai burger, and both of us find it difficult to pass up a free $9 burger. so last night we drove the 40 minutes across town to enjoy dave's free birthday burger (don't worry, he bought me dinner too). we had a sitter for miss jenna because we had another birthday time tradition to get to- tucson's showing of warren miller's children of winter at the fox theater. this is our third year attending this super fun kickoff to the skiing season. we had a blast- although i am super bummed to miss this skiing season. out of all the people in the theater, dave won the drawing to be entered in the final's for a new jeep. so, sometime in February we will find out if he is the 1 out of 190 something finalist that actually win the jeep. along with that he got a free dvd of a previous years warren miller movie. (for those of you that are like me before i met dave, warren miller in a skiing legend that makes super cool, super extreme skiing movies. i'm talking, helicopters dropping skiers and snowboarders at the top of the steepest peaks in the world, all while videotaping them finding their way straight down. crazy. click on the link to see a clip.) dave will definitely find some snow to ski this season, and maybe jenna and i will come along. i think she will really enjoy snow- and we want her to be excited about skiing. she can go to ski school when she is three, so 2011. fun fun. she was a gem for the sitter. i just hate coming home and not getting to cuddle her before she falls asleep, but she did wake up early and cuddled with me for a good hour in our bed. that was just what i needed.
another exciting weekend is upon us. evyn is getting baptized,
we get to celebrate dave and kailee's birthday, and MOST important,
we look forward to UA beating ASU tomorrow.

(i totally gave up trying to post the video of jenna saying 'go cats!'
- it had been processing since 9 am! sorry becky, but i will try again.)

We lost...sad day!!! That's funny how you have a video of Jenna saying "Go Cats". I'm sure that it's adorable. :) I am totally going to sign up for the birthday burger! Sounds like you guys had fun at the Warren Miller thing. :)

Happy Birthday Dave!!! I'm a horrible sister - I thought of him and even said to Dave, "It's Dave's birthday today, remind me to call him" ... and I didn't. Good to know about Red Robin. Dave LOVES Red Robin - next year we'll go!

I didn't know you had a "bun in the oven", a "pea in your pod", a "stork in training". Coolio! Love your blog. Thanks for the comment.
