cookie helpers....kinda

so the other day the internet was down ALL DAY. i thought i would die. seriously. i did get a lot done because i wasn't aimlessly searching the same sites at every free moment. i was able to enjoy the girls; we went to the library in search of a different book to read over and over again. we also made cookies. i had made cookies earlier in the week for dave to take to his home teaching families, and the cookie sheets were still out and lined with parchment. instead of cleaning them and putting them away, i figured i would make more cookies. you can't have too many cookies at christmas time, right? while the little ones were napping, i whipped up a yummy batch of chocolate crinkles (who names these things?) and let them chill for the recommended hour. at the time they were ready to go, the older of the little girls was up. i pulled up a chair, threw cleanliness to the wind, and away we went. i rolled the dough into nice balls, and the girls covered them in powdered sugar. i quickly realized that i couldn't have given them a messier assignment. luckily the batch only made the two trays of cookies, and i was able to rush them along so that i could clean up. i sent the girls to the bathroom to help each other clean up, and when they returned, the little miss still had powdered sugar on her face and arms.

when dave walked in, i begged him to allow me access to the cyber world. it took him like 5 minutes, after praising him in appropriate way, i spent the next 15 minutes checking my 35 emails (mostly junk, like normal), updating my facebook status, and reading all 14 new blog postings in my reader account. phew, i made it.

jenna has not stopped asking for 'cookie'- right before bed, and first thing this morning...

Hmmmm... clean cookie sheets or make more cookies?....Definately make more cookies!! Caroline's biggest contribution in the kitchen is as "Head Beater-Licker".
The other day I made mashed potatoes in the mixer and she asked if she could lick it. She was really disappointed it wasn't frosting!

That's funny about the cookie sheets. I have done the same thing this past week. :)
