just us... today

do you ever wanna blog about something/ someone, but you can't because you're never quite sure who reads this? do you ever want to give your 'side' of the situation, because it helps sooo much when others tell you your actions/feelings are valid? uggh. well, i do, but i won't. instead, let me distract myself and you with the latest about my family.

dave is just awesome. honest. he spent the better part of the weekend backing up our computer files after i 'broke' it and he had to reload stuff. i don't really know what i did, or what he did, but i have access to the internet again (which helps my sanity). for a few hours on friday, after seeing a blank screen on our desk top, i feared greatly that ALL my pictures were lost. they weren't, thank goodness, but it was close. have i mentioned that my dear husband bakes? well, he's really good at it too. he made a delicious cake yesterday with dates and a sugary glaze. (like i needed that in my fridge next to the two marie calendar pies and the cheesecake brownies.) i blame this book , and my kitchen savvy husband for keeping me out of my skinny pants.
jenna is her same happy self. this morning (monday) she woke up and said, 'shhh, daddy sleeping' and was saddened when i told her dad was at work. she currently likes her dad waaay more than me. on another jenna note, i recently read an article about how all parents like to brag about their kids to other parents. the article said that something like 68% of parents think their child is gifted. i tell you this because i am totally one of those parents, but i'm working through it. jenna is super cool, and is constantly amazing us with what she can do. *for example* she will find a small piece of paper on the floor, crumble it up, and put it in the trash can. she loves her brother and sings to him to try to make him not sad when he cries. she can put her crocs on ALL BY HERSELF. she doesn't like things to be 'open': bedroom doors, markers, the microwave, cabinets, the washer and dryer. she is always telling david and i to 'close it'. when getting in the car, she wants to buckle her carseat. she says 'i do it, self'. too cute! and the best update of all---- after 3 weeks of shunning nursery, yesterday was a success! she cried upon entry, but stopped soon after. we are good friends with one of the nursery leaders, and she told us she was a champ the entire time. (i think it had something to do with the dora stickers on her picture of Jesus.)

adam is my dream boy. yes, i will like him so much more when he lets me sleep for more than 3 hours, but non the less... i love him. remember all that silly talk about me wondering if i could love another as much as my jenna? well i do. he is so sweet and gives the best hugs. i think yesterday, if you counted up all the times he was crying, it maybe would be a total of 8 minutes. seriously. he pooped so loudly during sacrament meeting yesterday and it didn't ruin his adorable outfit. sweet boy. i washed all of his 3-6 months clothes, and it was ALOT of clothes. i just love dressing him up. it is almost as much fun as dressing up baby jenna was.

and me. well, i did put on a pair of non-maternity jeans the other day. they were super low fat jeans, but that totally counts. i am slowly reloading my maternity boxes, and it feels great. i have barely made a dent in my 'thank you' note list. i am so lucky to have so many great people that gave adam and i gifts- but the thank you notes are sure to occupy me most of this week. i think my mother's day plants are dying. we potted two beautiful flowering plants for the patio, and they aren't looking good. how do i know if they are getting to much water? or too much sun? or not enough water? or maybe they just hate me? boo. on another note- i need to see a dermatologist. and a dentist. and an orthopedic surgery, preferable a ankle/foot specialist. OR get pregnant again so i can avoid all of it. just kidding about getting pregnant again. thanks just crazy talk at this point. i am on my third trial pair of contact lenses and just about to give up. how long should it take for contacts to be in constant focus and to feel comfortable?! i left the house nearly every day last week with both kids. yeah me! it was tricky, but they both did great. i did not have to nurse in a 100+ degree car or in target's dressing room, thank you for small miracles.

i almost forgot the best news--- everyone in our house got a nice long sunday nap. our kids must have talked about it and coordinated their naps, thus allowing the mom and dad to rest.

we are a happy family.

(be looking for the next post with pictures galore!
i've been ignoring the small ones long enough...)

Lovely post. I edit what I blog about too. I really want to rant and rave about how people never return phone calls or emails especially about Scout day camp which is only two days away and I'm completely losing it!!!! But no one involved with camp reads your blog so I can spout here, right? Feel free to reciprocate. I can't wait to see you and your cute kids. My brother? Yeah, I guess it will be good to see him too.

I told you you would love that little boy just as much as sweet little Jenna :) I'm not sure how it happens, but somehow your heart expands and has enough room to love one more! Looks like you're handling two like a champ!

Oh dear, I wish I could blog about what Really bugs me too, but can't! Gossip is a hard one for me sometimes. And dave's family gives me pleanty of drama to gossip about!
Anyway, I think your kids are darling and I'm glad things are going so well!

I can blog about what really bugs me. It should not be 100 degrees at 1 am and the Army sucks. Can't wait to meet the boy.
