blessing to help her feel better. this was jenna's first fathers blessing, other than her baby blessing. (i guess we've been lucky that she's been so healthy. adam had his first blessing when he was staying in the NICU.) dave returned to her room, and showed her the oil. he told her that he would put some on her head and then put his hands over it, and ask our heavenly father to help her feel better. it was a beautiful blessing and jenna was very reverent during it. david asked heavenly father for her to feel better and for him and i to know how to take care of her. we all slept well. we still don't know why she spit up, but jenna has talked a LOT about getting her blessing. we discussed the priesthood for FHE on the way to get ice cream the other night. and last night before bed, she asked for some oil on her head. we used that chance to remind her about what we talked about. now she can tell us all about the priesthood, and how daddy gave her a special blessing with oil because her belly was sore. she knows that her uncles and grandpa's have the priesthood, and that someday adam with have the priesthood.as a parent, it is so neat to watch your child truly understand an important gospel principle.

I love those precious teaching moments. And I also love that it has been written down. Because, trust me, as awesome as those moments are, you WILL forget. But years down the road, you can read this and remember. Good job!
This was such a special post! I loved it. I agree... It's SO wonderful to watch your kids begin to understand gospel principles.
I didn't know that part of your throw up story when we were chatting last night. How sweet
So great. Sometimes I forget that kids can feel the Spirit and understand basic but profound spiritual truths. Jenna is lucky to have good parents who recognize an opportunity for a teaching moment.
What a blessing to have a worthy priesthood holder in your home!
That is so neat. Glad she is better and also very grateful too for the blessings of the gospel.
