jenna is one to always be looking out the car windows in hopes of seeing anything cool. a school bus, a red truck, a fire truck, maybe a horse- but mostly, she wants to see motorcycles. while heading to the store this morning, a man on a motorcycle passed us. jenna got excited and said, "LOOK MOM! A motorcycle! How cool!" with just the right amount of enthusiasm. she then preceded to talk about it and ask questions about it for the next 10 minutes. right before we got to our destination, she asked if she could ride a motorcycle. my response, "Jenna, you are just a little girl, and little girls cannot ride motorcycles." (whenever i tell her that she is too little to do something she instantly tries to convince me that she is a grown up already.) i reiterated that maybe when she is bigger she can try to ride a motorcycle.
i park and open her door to unload her, and find her with the silliest sad face. i worked hard not to laugh at her, and asked her what was wrong. her response? "I'm sooooo sad mom. I want to ride a motorcycle. I really want to ride a motorcycle." (back to silly sad face, lip out and all) i consoled her for a moment and she was quickly distracted in the store pretending to be a dog.
we finish up and head back to the car, and immediately she turns her smile upside down. "Why are you so sad sweetheart?"
you guessed it- "I want to be big enough to ride a motorcycle now, mom." {insert sad charlie brown walk here all the way to the car...}
maybe she can ride this one...

Please don't tell this story to Uncle Jason. He wants a motorcycle again and loved giving rides to my kids. I can just see him saying, "But Jenna wants a ride."
That's too cute. :)
That is a funny story...hopefully she will forget about it by the time she is old enough to ride.
