digging for gold

for easter, jenna got a little shovel in her basket. it’s been sitting on the floor in the garage for her to use anytime dave is doing out door jobs. she loves moving the rocks back and forth. yesterday, as i was trying to load the car up to run errands, she was digging in the rocks. she really wanted to keep digging, so i told her we could go out and dig before bath time.
and that’s what we did.
the sun was headed down behind the houses, so our sand pit was nice and shaded. jenna jumped right into ‘dig for gold’ (while singing the song from backyardigans).
    
santa clause, the tooth fairy, or the easter bunny must have dropped a handful of pennies when she wasn’t looking…
i wasn’t sure what this guy would think of the sand. he normally doesn’t like to be barefoot outside, but he had a blast as well (he was wearing a pair of cute shorts, but i didn’t want them to get all sandy, so i slipped this pair of pajama pants on him).

yes, there is still sand on the bathroom floor upstairs, but they had a great time.
