we went fishing

 Okay, so I can't believe I haven't shared ANY pics from our quick vacation. We went in mid-July and were just gone for a few day, but it was a welcomed break. (Megan's surgery was the day after we got home)

   Pinetop/Lakeside is a 4.5 hour drive, and we made it there with only one stop for food in Globe. Wonderful! The weather was cooler and we were thrilled to get to spend time outdoors. We bought a fishing license and borrowed poles from a friend. The kids were super excited to go fishing.

    But like most small people, they just wanted to CATCH fish. And we didn't. Jenna was good at sitting with her dad and holding the pole, but Adam gave up. We took a walk around the lake and even found a playground to occupy him.

   There was another family that came to fish at the pier too. A couple little boys were hunting dragonflies and Jenna liked it. We didn't tell her that the poor dragonflies were totally goners after being handled by 3 kids.

   So we spent some quiet time outside, but didn't catch anything. The kids were bored so we packed up after about 90 minutes. We were almost ready to go and it started to sprinkle. We grabbed our stuff and the sprinkles turned to full on RAIN in about 20 seconds.

      We all rushed to the car and were soaking wet! It was kinda funny once we were all loaded, but loading in the pouring rain was tricky. (Baby out of stroller and buckled in seat, stroller and polls to fit in car...)
