singing time

the other night we were lucky enough to have some good friends over for dinner (they have a daughter that is about 9 months older than jenna). after dinner, we were all sitting and watching the girls play. somewhere along the way, we mentioned jenna recent love of singing primary songs. i asked if she sang during nursery (our friend being a nursery leader) because she sang all the way home in the car. she was most excited about the 'ROCK' song, and could not get enough of the hand smacking actions.
this is the moment i should have grabbed the camera. our living room became singing time. david along with these friends that he grew up with, started singing and acting out 'The Wise Man and The Foolish Man'. i just sat back and watched their faces, and the pure joy that the parents were expressing as much as the two litttle girls. after the song was over, another one quickly began.
it was a great night, spent with parents that love being parents as much as dave and i do. i later asked david if five years ago, he could see themselves here, singing primary songs with his friends and their kids. david of course said yes.

i feel blessed to have such a wonderful dad as my husband,
and to be surrounded by such great friends.

When I was a teen-ager, you could never have convinced me that your evening would count as a good time. I am wiser now. Sounds like tons of fun.

I'm convinced that being a parent turns us all into total nerds. But, isn't it great?!
