happy birthday to the love of my life

in case you didn't notice, i did not write a sappy post on my anniversary this year. so humor me with the following post. in honor of david's 32nd birthday today, i thought i'd make a list of all the reasons that i love him. i've been working on this one in my head for awhile, so here it goes::

1. i love david because he loves me. he really loves me. all the way- and tells me often. sometimes, i ask, 'hey hon? do you love me?' to which his silly answer is, 'i told you that i loved you that one time, and i also told you that i would let you know if it ever changes', with a big grin on his face.

2. i love david because without him i wouldn't have jenna and adam. sure, i coulda married someone else, but those kids wouldn't be nearly as cool as the ones we got are.

3. i love david because he is such an awesome dad. like the awesom-est. i remember the first time i saw him with his nieces and nephews, i knew he would be a great dad. it was a big part of the reason that i fell in love with him. he is the one that reads jenna's bedtime stories to her each night; he even shows adam the pictures. when we were first married, we had discussed waiting a little while before starting our family. we only made it 6 months before i knew that we weren't suppose to wait any longer. all during my pregnancy with jenna, i was most excited about making dave a dad. i knew it was something that he had waited a long time for. my kids are so lucky!

4. i love david because he loves his family. on many occasions he has dropped everything to help them or serve them. he is truly happy spending time with them. he loves my family too, which is pretty cool. he also prays for our extended family.

5. i love david because he is a good provider for our family. he works really hard at a job that he enjoys so that i can stay home with our kids. he is really good at his job and is always praying to do better. he is constantly one of the highest selling salesman in his division, and still has time to help his coworkers out.

6. i love david because he is a good friend. we don't have as much time to spend with our friends now adays {that we have two little kids} but he still asks me about them. he prays for his friends too.

7. i love david because he is a worthy priesthood holder who faithful serves in the church. he loves his heavenly father and has great faith.

8. i love david because he always takes out the trash.

9. i love david because he makes really good bread and really good pizza.

10. i love david because he has goals and dreams. we talk often about where we want to be in 5, 10, 20+ years, and he has such cool ideas. i love that he shares these dreams with me, and is letting me tag along with him.

11. i love david because he loves the library and he loves books. he is almost always reading something.

12. i love david because he is a great example to our children {and to all of our kids cousins}. he is kind, generous, loving, trustworthy, and a hard-worker.

13. i love david because he's funny. he is always teasing and playing with jenna. the other day, he was eating spaghetti, and had a little noodle hanging out of his mouth. he asked jenna if he had anything on his face, to which she laughed. for the rest of dinner, jenna would leave a little bit of noodle hanging out of her mouth and ask, 'do i have anything on my face?' i love watching our favorite shows together. he laughs out loud at arrested development and the office. FUNNY!

14. i love david because he is so handsome. i mean, really, really handsome! and tall- i love that he is tall.


i could keep going... but i won't. my sweet brother-in-law told me to limit the amount of text on my blog to the amount of pictures, and since i don't have any more time to look for pictures....

i just wanted to publically express my love for my sweet husband- my best friend- my eternal companion.
