Jenna could NOT have been any more excited about the Daddy/Daughter Dance. She actually got in a bit of trouble last week, with the warning that if it continued, she would miss the dance. Well, she got in trouble again and neither Dave nor I could bear the sobs when we discussed the intended punishment. She made all sorts of deals this week and gave up lots of other privileges to be able to attend (no TV or iPod for the week). She bounced in the house after school to report that she had a great day and was so excited to go to the dance with her dad that evening.
As soon as she got home she wanted to get dressed up and have her hair done. I distracted her for a while, but she was mostly ready by the time Dave walked in from work. I was excited that she let me play with her hair and make it fancy. We did LOTS of curls, lots of bobby pins and lots of hair spray. She even has the tiniest bit of make up on.
Adam was bummed to be missing out, but easily consoled with staying up past bedtime hanging out with me. Megan cried and tried to follow them to the car- in four years she'll get her turn.
I'm glad my sweet girl has such a cool dad to take out to special events.
